Mustard pots are extremely rare and are highly collectable. Dating from the 1850's this mustard pot is decorated with a matching pair of blue and white bands around the side and repeated on the lid. The mustard pot has a rounded rim and foot with an applied acanthus foliate strap handle.
The lid has an attractive button knob. Measuring 3" in diameter by 2 ½" to the top of the lid, this mustard pot is rare in that it still has its lid. The lids were easily broken and are usually missing. Is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs.
The lid has a sliver of clay missing from the inside of the inner rim, this isn't visible with the lid in place and doesn't detract.
