This is a lovely piece, attributed to Théodore Deck, a widely versatile French ceramist of the late 19th CE. Admittedly, this piece is a bit of a mystery, as one would come to the conclusion it is a majolica piece from Italy, in the Berettino Faenza Style.

The mark on the back is an impressed T and an H in paint, as well as a very faint stamped mark, we can only assume is a retailer. After much research, we found another piece online attributed to Théodore Deck with the exact marking (less the stamp) and the same center medallion (as a reference, please search on 1st dibs, "tazza" and "theodore deck" to find this piece). It is a gorgeous plate with an elaborately painted trim in the Faenza style and a relief center medallion of cherubs and a nude (the nude is in relief, as well as the rim of the medallion).
