Very rare 18thC Italian tin glazed, also known as maiolica or faience, pottery charger plate decorated in underglaze cobalt blue from the city of Torino. Marked to the base with the crowned shield mark used by factories in this region during the 18thC.
Measures 30.5cm in diameter. Excellent condition for such a fragile piece of pottery with only some minor fritting to the rim. As is common with wares of this type there is pitting to the galze, stilt marks and substantial pooling of the glaze in places.
