PAIR Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Dishes, Court Scene, 18/19thC, Possibly Kangxi. Date: 18th to 19th Century, Possibly Kangxi Period. Design Elements: Shallow porcelain dishes decorated in underglaze blue with a central panel depicting two maidens and a young boy in a court scene. Smaller panels around the rim with scholars and boys alternating with ruyi-head and floral designs. Underside of rim with two stylized floral sprays.
Old handwritten labels on foot of each dish. Diameter: 18.4 cm / 18.6 cm (7.24 in / 7.32 in). CONDITION: One foot rim with 1.1 cm chip to inner edge of foot rim from prior to firing as the piece is adhered in the glaze. Multiple other tiny shallow chips to foot rim each 2mm or smaller. Tiny firing flaws/pitting, light wear and scratches to glaze.
