Pair Antique 19thC Meissen Porcelain Blue Onion Plate s Porzellan Teller German. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A nice pair of porcelain plates made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century.
They are decorated with their famous blue onion design in under glaze blue with the stalk of the "onion" having the crossed swords mark in it which the earlier ones did not. Not as dark as the set of plates I own but more crisp and quite elegant with the gold trim to the edge. Both of the plates are in perfect condition.
Each plate is about 1.125 inches tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as impressed numbers as shown as well as the blue painter's mark - one being 38 and the other 71 I think.
