Large Sometsuke Plate Blue White Hizen Ware Platter Meiji Charger Japanese Wares

This is a Sometsuke Hizen-Imari ware, platter hand-painted in under-glaze blue and white technique during the Meiji period (1800's) in Japan. Blue and white rimmed platter/charger with beautifully intricate peony flower design, picturesque landscape on a traditional Japanese screen.

The underside of the platter is painted with a border of floral scrolls. Excellent item for collectors of Japanese/Asian traditional pottery; fantastic housewarming gift, wedding, or anniversary present.

No chips, cracks or repairs. Some small under-glazed spots and dimples original to kiln. Diagonal measurement: 12.5 inches (32 cm). Please hit the button and send a note.
