John & Richard Riley Dessert Plate, Dromedary Pattern, 1825

JOHN & RICHARD RILEY DESSERT PLATE, DROMEDARY PATTERN, 1825. Delightful blue and white tranferware dessert plate decorated with the Camel, or Dromedary pattern.

Shows a camel with handler with date palms and three pyramids in the background. The scene has a floral border on a pale blue ground. The plate is in very good antique condition, with just one tiny rim chip to the glaze, and a few tiny kiln frits in the glaze. Unmarked to the base, but attributed to John and Richard Riley of Burslem.

The items listed are old and may show signs of wear commensurate with age. I try to describe items as accurately as possible, including a number of photos showing details and highlighting any flaws. A: Perfect, with minimal signs of wear. No chips, cracks or repairs.

B: Very good, some wear commensurate with age. C: Good, some wear to high spots, such as gilding, rim and base edges.

Small chips and/or cracks, as described. D: Fair, showing a high degree of wear and tear commensurate with age. Chips, cracks and repairs, as described. E: Poor, showing heavy wear, damage and/or plus previous repairs.

All items will be securely packed with bubble wrap and biodegradable packing beans within a strong cardboard box.
