This is a very attractive, and substantial, early nineteenth century blue and white transfer-printed Spode Italian pattern hot water plate. It has a floral chinoiserie border encompassing a rural Italian scene in shades and textures of cobalt blue, the Spode Blue Italian print is one of the most recognisable and admired British designs of all time.
It is marked to the underside. Width: 28.5 cms Height: 5 cms Condition: Generally in very good condition there is only a small bruise to the rim at the 10 o'clock position and some signs of light ware on the handles.
