Chinese blue & white plate, Qianlong (1735-96), decorated to the centre with a scene of two robed scholars with fans meeting beside a lake with a young attendant carrying a lantern, a willow overhead, rockwork in the foreground and pagoda in the distance, the cavetto with four cartouches containing beribboned scholarly objects against a diaper ground, the rim with a scrolling garland of peony, chrysanthemum and lily, diameter: 34.8cm. , condition: 5 frits to brown rim and a hairline with 6 small areas of loss of glaze to central figure.
