C. 1820's SPODE Death of the Bear Blue Transferware Plate Indian Sporting Series
A scarce circa 1820's Spode blue transferware plate from the Indian Sporting Series. This view is called "Death of the Bear" It is impress marked and marked in blue on the back as shown. Measures 9 7/8 in diameter. There are no hairlines or cracks and no repairs.
There is a tiny pinpoint nick in the glaze off the edge of the rim on the front. There is some bubbling in the glaze in an area along the back edge of the rim. The color is good and the glaze is shiny with no discoloration and no crazing.There is a pinpoint utensil nick and a few utensil marks seen when tilted in light that are minor.
