C1750 English Delftware'Peony & Fence' Pattern Tin-Glazed 30.5cm Plate

C1750 English Delftware'Peony & Fence' Pattern Tin-Glazed 30.5cm Plate A/F. A large c1750 English Delftware tin-glazed plate or charger. Hand-decorated in a Chinoiserie style with the'peony & fence' pattern commonly seen on Chinese Kangxi pieces of the same period. The outer border is decorated with alternating panels enclosing diapers then blossoms. The plate is in acceptable condition.

There is a single break to the rim that has been glued & restored then the restorer has got a little carried away and touched up a further 10 areas on the rim. One of these areas has an associated hairline crack, and 6 of these areas probably didn't need doing at all. To the front of the plate at least five of these areas of restoration are visible despite the over-painting. Please see photographs for details.
