Bao Ming Collection - Oriental Arts and Antiques from Collector to Collector. This is a very beautifu and elegance plate.
The decoration is, no doubt, inspired by Hokusai woodblock print: 36 views of Mt. Fuji; print #26: " Hodogaya on the Tokaido". The print depicts a group of travelers next to a row of pine trees by a river with Mt.
Since it was inspired by Hokusai 36 view of Mt Fuji prints, which was first published in 1830s, it's hypothesis that this was made shortly after this. This would date this plate to late Edo, second half of 19thC. The plate at base is 14.5"W X 10"H (36.83cm X 25.4cm).
