The plate is typical of the porcelain produced in the first period made from compact soap/rock porcelain which gives the plate a blue/green colour. The plate is decorated in underglaze blue depicting an oriental theme with dragons and Chinese symbols. Some gilding is still present around the rim and the underside features a border with bats.
Approx 9 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. The piece is unmarked as with many first period makes and is dotted with many rust spots throughout. Some hairline cracks are present to the underside of the plate and also one significant crack which can be seen from both the underside and the front (please refer to photos). The plate is un-crazed and has no chips. This item is in the category "Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Decorative Cookware & Tableware\Plates".
