A rather nice set of late Georgian c1820 pearlware supper dishes. The part set comprising four quadrant design supper dishes. The blue and white oriental themed transfer design has been labelled Benjamin Adams.
Snowy Willow however I doubt this attribution that has been written on old collection labels found on the reverse of one dish. I'm sure the more informed will be easily identify the design and Staffordshire factory maker. It is increasingly difficult to find a set of these dishes and this item is a fine example. The wonderful transfer pattern completely smothers the surfaces and borders. One dish has some staining to the reverse, but not to the front at all.
Also one tiny flea bite to the glaze on the corner of one. It is quite remarkable to get four of these dishes so intact.
