A Fine Late Ming Blue And White. Style Export Porcelain Dish Jingdezhen ware. White porcelain of circular form with a flared rim, the interior painted in fine underglaze deep cobalt blue wash and tones with a central circular medallion of a flowering spray of lotus, the cavetto encircled with trellis-diaper sections and shaped panels of flowering lotus, the reverse sparsely decorated with sprays of bamboo grass, typical kiln-grit adhering to the exterior and interior of the footring, chatter marks to the thickly potted base, typical. Frits to the liprim (as expected), some kiln flaws to the glaze with some firing cracks, covered with a pale blue tinged glaze in darker hues where thick, partly soiled. Sets of five, ten and more would have been made for utility purposes. Very similar examples are illustrated in old sources published prior to 1940 and exhibition catalogues. 14.3 cm (5.62 in) maximum cross diameter. Almost perfect condition with the exception of a very trivial shallow glaze chip to the edge of the commonly found fritted rim unless otherwise undamaged with no chips, cracks and restoration.
Some manufacturing imperfections to the glaze with some firing cracks. Some old wear to the glaze in general use. Are antiques and works of art with some age, which are unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine as described.
