A Fine Late Ming Blue And White Export Porcelain Dish With Auspicious Objects Jingdezhen ware. White porcelain of circular shallow form with a flared rim, the interior painted in fine underglaze cobalt blue tones with a central circular medallion depicting a crane resting on the foreground under a tall pine tree with angular limbs, three clumps of needles painted in short and darker lines, flowering branches, a band of chevron to the cavetto, the underside typically plain, typical kiln-grit adhering to the exterior and interior of the footring and some to the front interior, the very thickly potted base with firing cracks, typical. Frits to the liprim (as expected), some kiln flaws to the glaze, covered with a pale blue tinged glaze in darker hues where thick, partly soiled. The blue and white Jingdezhen porcelain dish is though to have been manufactured in a private kiln some time between the Tianqi and Chongzhen periods for the Japanese market.
Sets of five, ten and more would have been made for utility purposes. The dish with the popular auspicious objects appears to be an unpublished. 15.9 cm (6.25 in) maximum cross diameter. Undamaged with no chips, cracks and restoration. Some manufacturing imperfections to the glaze with some firing cracks.
