(6) Antique Staffordshire Pekin Flow Blue China Ironstone Salad Plates
Offered for sale is a magnificent lot of (6) antique flow blue salad plates manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the mid to late 1800s. The plates were manufactured by Davenport and they are in the "Pekin" pattern, which displays a beautiful arrangement of flowers in the center with floral sprays around the edge. The rim has a geometric pattern border and the rim is scalloped. The back of each plate is impressed with the Davenport name and they are stamped with the pattern name as well.
Each plate measures 8 7/8 in diameter. The overall condition of the plates is excellent. They are very clean with no chips, cracks, or restored areas.
The glaze is glossy with no rubbing or loss and fine crazing is present on each plate. The plates are a deep color and the white provides nice contrast with no stains noted. Very light scratches and utensil wear is on the surface of the plates, but it is very minor. This is about as nice as they come for antique flow blue items!
