Japanese discover porcelain kaolin mine in early 17thC, around 1610s, according to legend. In less than 100 years, by the late 17thC, they have achieved perfection. For comparison, the Chinese truly produced porcelain since the Song dynasty, Qingbai kilns.
It was about 200 years later during Ming dynasty of Xuande and Chenghua that they achieved perfection. This rare shakuzara large dish is 12.625"D X 3.25"H (32.07cm X 8.25cm). Item is in great condition with no damage such as chips or cracks or hairlines. Item was examined under black UV light and has no restoration.
