18th Century Delft Delftware 23.6cm Blue & White Tin Glazed Earthenware Plate. A lovely, likely mid-to-late-eighteenth century, blue and white tin glazed earthenware plate. Hand-painted with a central garden scene with trees, flowers and a fence. The border pattern is a bold design of stylised leaves.
No markings to the rear. The plate is in excellent condition for a piece of early tin glazed earthenware. There are multiple smaller nibbles or scuffs to the glazed rim but the overwhelming majority of the glaze is remarkably intact. There are no heavier chips and no cracks whatsoever.
There is one fingernail sized area of glaze loss to the rear. The decorated surface of the plate is in superb condition with no loss to the glaze and barely even a surface scratch - an excellent original piece for the collectors. Please see pictures for more information. The plate is 23.6cm diameter and weighs 542g. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further details or pictures.
