18th C Qianlong Blue & White Floral Plate with Fine Detail 10.5 Dia

I WILL UPDATE AS THE NUMBER RISES OR FALLS, THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST. 18th C Qianlong High Quality Blue & White Delicate Floral Plate with Fine Detail 10.5 (26cm). This plate exhibits excellent fine line painting on thinly potted porcelain with mild warping which is common in larger thinly potted plates.

The painting is very well executed and is superior to much export ware on the market these days. For a plate of this age it is in remarkable condition. It has been my pleasure to own such a magnificent piece of Chinese quality porcelain.

This plate demonstrates many of the important plants to Chinese mythology some of which the "Four Gentlemen or Four Nobles" consist of: Plum, Orchid, Bamboo and Chrysanthemum. The flowers in the central theme are the Passion Flower and Peony, with the Passion Flower being the more uncommon. While this may not be an Imperial piece, it is of excellent quality and will fair well in any quality Blue & White collection. This plate I believe came from Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of china.

My research leads me to believe the plate was made for export to Western Europe during the Qianlong reign, circa 1740. The plate is decorated in an under glaze blue of varying shades. The ground color is a light bluish-grey (which I have found difficult to capture in photos). It has a central floral theme, surrounded by a narrow border pattern. There is also a "four part" floral pattern winding around the outer rim.

In my photos there can be seen some tiny fine spotting of dark cobalt blue "stars" (seen in close-up photos 8, 9 & 10) which could signify an even earlier date for this plate. Condition and size: The plates is in remarkable condition, slightly warped (typical) with only (1) extremely small frit. The size of the plate is 10 1/2" (26.25cm) diameter by 1" (2.5cm) tall.
