Pair Antique English circa 1865 Davenport blue white dragon china 2 plates
I bought these 150+ year old plate/bowls at an antique store in England, in a village about 50 miles west of London in 1985. These plates or shallow bowls with handles are manufactured by Davenport English China Company approximately around the year 1865. The antique store had them between 1850 - 1870 approximately. Each bowl is 9 x 10. These plates are very whimsical. They have 4 flying dragons chasing each other with what looks like a dragon fly in the middle of the plate. Each bowl has two handles and there is some gold detailing around the handle and edges. These plates are in remarkable condition for as old as they are. I had ordered a custom made frame to display these plates and this frame with the dark blue velvet background is included in the sale.
