It has very fine details and there appears to be some sort of theme of merchant business with members of the West. There appears to be a geometric figure in the plate which may represent a mill wheel. Perhaps this plate was designed as a tribute to some merchants from the West who assisted in setting up a mill? The figures appear to be dressed in Dutch clothing which could date this work to the Edo period. The scrolling work on the sides usually shows up on 18th century Chinese Kangxi Dynasty works. The details of this work reflect master craftsmanship created by the hands of porcelain artists who are now a part of history. The Dimensions are 12.25 x 2.25 inches. A Certificate of Authenticity hand signed by Laurent Ashton on archival laid paper will accompany this artwork.
