Unusual blue and white Japanese Imari/Arita charger. Transfer printed and hand painted charger with scalloped rim, c late 19th century.
Intricate design with traditional motifs and pattern, over-painted in blue wash. This charger is typical of the Imari porcelain ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. It is unmarked with an unglazed foot. Ground has a blue tint. Measures 31 cm in diameter.
