ENGLISH DELFT CHARGER Blue & White DEEP FORM PLATE c18 th Century. This fine antique Charger , a deep round form plate. Is English Delft Pottery , made famous for similarity to Dutch Delft. Is decorated with a background of flowers and vines. Has a large central reserve with flowers. Has a background white glaze; and is nicely enameled with colors of royal blue and light blue. Is thickly potted and quite heavy, and has a thick white rim. Has two original glazed holes in the top for hanging. Is glazed white on the underside bottom with a thick backing, a raised rim foot , and the base rim is unglazed. Diameter x 2.4 In. The estimated date is early 18 th Century, circa 1 72 0. This work is offered from the personal collection of an esteemed collector/ dealer who owned antique shops for over 30 years located in Palm Beach and Nantucket. Century ENGLISH DELFT CHARGER is in very good condition - with a few minor glaze losses to rim, shown in photos. Condition status includes normal wear and rubbing, glaze losses, firing flaws, minor crazing and fretting.
