Private Collection MING DYNASTY Blue & White Porcelain Plate Print Pair. Offering a gorgeous pair (2) of vintage, limited edition, prints by The Bombay Co. The exquisitely detailed prints were reproduced from the original design of blue and white foliate-rim porcelain plates. Each print is numbered and signed with the red Oriental chop. The print is framed in a round triple mat of dark blue, red and grey creating a shadowbox effect and set in an octagonal hardwood frame of silver with a gold rope border accent.
The last two photos show the description of the prints as provided by The Bombay Company originally accompanied with the prints and are not included in the sale. These photos were obtained during my research and are included for informational purposes only. The pair include the following. Blue & White DEER Print. Decorated with an elaborate geometric outer border with four cartouches and an inner border with bounding deer surrounding a lush landscape scene featuring two deer. Blue & White CRANE Print.Depicts a graceful center panel scene of cranes surrounded by balanced and rhythmically detailed inner and outer borders. Print measures 11 in diameter at first mat.
Frame measures 20 ¼ x 20 ¼ x 21 ¾ at diagonal x 1 ½ deep. Both are in very good vintage condition: the glass on the deer picture has some spotting which appears to be on the interior as well as some dust on the matting and the back paper shows some slight tearing on both though does not detract from the beauty of the prints.
