Chinese Kangxi Blue and White Large Moulded Plate - Scholars. Approximate Date: 1662 - 1722. Markings: Mandarin mark of honour - See photo.

Approximate Size: 27.6 cm in diameter. The plate is very nicely decorated in a deep cobalt blue colour, with scholars in a landscape scene, around the border there are ten panels with a floral design. There is some very minor fritting to the rim and some slight crazing to the central panel. It has a K-shaped hairline inside the foot rim, which is also slightly visible to the front of the plate.
