3500 "Make us an offer" Listings/. Very nice example of the early Edo period Kraak revival pieces. EXCEPT these are not Chinese but Japanese see the chatter marks on the base.

Made in Arita late 17th c. With sublime colours and painting. After the Kilns in Jingdezhen started operating again during the Kangxi period China steadily took market share from the Japanese porcelain industry. During the porcelain boom of the late 17th c Chinese potters and painters started working again with the shapes and style of the Ming and transitional period Kraak wares. Resulting in very finely potted Kangxi kraak wares.

The Japanese than copied this again. Based on the Kraak klapmuts bowls as shown in "Maura Rinaldi - Kraak Porcelain" Type V. For Kraak revival see: Jan Menze van Diepen Stichting "A selection from the collection of Oriental ceramics" by CJA Jorg. Now this is an interesting pair.

Very nice example of the early Kangxi period Kraak revival pieces. The dirt spots at the back are from the metal ring that is removed. We can not control this.
